In post-war London in the 1950s, renowned couturier Reynolds Woodcock and his sister Cyril rule the English fashion world. They dress royalty, movie stars, wealthy heiresses and the cream of high society in Woodcock's inimitable style. Women come and go in the life of this famous, hardened bachelor, serving as both muses and companions, until the determined young Alma overtakes them all to take center stage.
